I would say yes. Is Christmas a commercialized extravaganza?Have retailers pushed Christ to the side in order to broaden their market? Has the image of Santa, Rudolph & other pop culture icons been etched in our minds over the years? Yes, yes and yes! Even with these things occuring I still assert that Christ is relevant to Christmas.
God's gift of SALVATION through FAITH in His son is far superior to any gift we could give each other. Without question. However, the concept of gift giving is an honorable one. The Spirit of the living God resides on the inside of the believer. It is the responsibility of believers to lift up the name of Christ at all times. We cannot abdicate this charge and put it in the hands of retailers or vendors.
Christ has always been in Christmas. Our Savior will remain in Christmas as long as we, His earthly representatives lift up His name. As long as we show the love of Christ by giving from a perspective of agape love. For God so loved us that He GAVE the greatest gift that's ever been given. Christ Jesus is the gift. He is the reason for the season!
We exist to Inspire and Motivate students to seek Christ, Pursue a relationship with Him, Accept His unconditional love, Connect with other students, and Tell someone about Him. We will IMPACT this generation for Christ!
